1)     That authorisation is given to introduce the proposals detailed within this report on Ridgeway Road.

2)     That authorisation be given to advertise the intention to introduce the traffic regulation order as detailed in the schedule to this report and that, if no objections are maintained the order be made and implemented in whole or in part as soon as is practicable.

3)     That any objections maintained be reported back for consideration.

A number of requests have been received by the Council over the years regarding all day parking on Ridgeway Road, Timperley.

Vehicles extending either side of the nursery access thereby reducing that stretch of the road to a single lane. At peak times, traffic is regularly backed up to Thorley Lane and Broomwood Road. Vehicles have been observed mounting and driving along the pavement to let other cars through, this is considered detrimental to road safety.

The Council installed a number of bollards on the footway several years ago to alleviate this but it is now considered that additional waiting restrictions are required. It is therefore proposed to introduce ‘No Waiting at Any Time’ and ‘No Waiting Monday – Friday, 8am – 6pm’ restrictions; A ‘Resident Permit Holders’ parking bay and a ‘Limited Waiting’ parking bay with exemptions for residents’ permit holders on parts of Ridgeway Road.

This proposal supersedes the previously advertised proposals.
