Decision details

Clyne Street, Stretford - Proposed Disabled Residents’ Permit Parking Space

Decision Maker: Corporate Director Place

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

To seek approval to introduce a disabled residents’ permit parking space on Clyne Street, Stretford.

Decision:

1.          That the introduction of a disabled residents’ permit parking space on Clyne Street, Stretford be approved.

2.          That authorisation be given to advertise the intention of making the Traffic Regulation Order referred to in the schedule to this report and, if no objections are maintained, that the Order be made, in whole or in part, and the proposal implemented.

3.          That a consultation be carried out with nearby residents.

Reasons for the decision:

In view of the nature of the streets within the area, the demand for on-street parking and the appeal submitted by the applicant, it is considered that the applicant would benefit from the introduction of a disabled permit parking space that would allow her to park directly outside her home, however, as the driveway cannot be used as such, it is proposed to remove part of the existing double access and locate the bay in front of the vehicular access to maximise the remaining parking spaces.

Alternative options considered:

The requested marking is the only option available to provide some degree of preference to the applicant when parking their car close to their home.

Interests and Nature of Interests Declared:

None.
