To seek approval to introduce a school keep clear restriction and No Waiting/Loading restrictions on Northumberland Road, Stretford.

1.     That the introduction of ‘No waiting/loading at any time’ and ‘School Keep Clear’ parking restrictions on Northumberland Road, Stretford, as detailed on drawing number E9127-A, be approved.

2.     That formal consultation be carried out with nearby residents and that any objections maintained to be reported back for consideration.

3.     That authorisation be given to advertise the intention to introduce the Traffic Regulation Orders, as detailed in the schedule to the report and as shown on the attached drawing number E9127-A and that if no objections are maintained, the order be implemented in whole or in part as soon as is practicable.

Introducing the proposed restrictions will keep the pedestrian entrance clear, therefore, making it safer for the students of Seymour Park Community Primary School.

Removing the double yellow lines was considered, however, after reviewing, it was deemed unsafe as cars would still be able to park in the 7-metre gap, defeating the purpose of the ‘School Keep Clear’. Therefore, the decision was made to keep the double yellow lines.
