It is proposed to revise the existing on-street and off-street parking charges, which necessitates an amendment to the Borough of Trafford (Parking Places) (Charges Order) 2001. These proposals will be subject to a separate report to be submitted to the special Budget Executive meeting on 20 February 2019 to approve the Council’s budget proposals for the Fees, Charges and allowances for 2019/20.

It is anticipated that the period for the revised parking charges to be introduced will be April 2019.

1.     That authorisation be given to advertise the intention to amend the Borough of Trafford (Parking Places) (Charges) Order 2001, as amended,  as detailed in the report and that, if no objections are maintained, the order be made, in whole or in part, and implemented, as soon as is practicable.

2.     That any objections to the changes be reported back for consideration.

The Council has provided on-going financial support to retain low parking charges in Trafford, for a number of years, to ensure that town centre parking tariffs were set at a level to encourage growth in visitor numbers and support local service users.

The Council held an online public consultation, via the Council website, for a period of 5 weeks during the period 28 November 2018 to 2 January 2019 outlining the proposed parking charges for 2019/20, as part of the full council budget review.
