Disabled residents’ permit parking spaces have been requested by residents of Bridgewater Road and Navigation Road, Altrincham. During enquiries regarding the application for a disabled persons’ permit parking bay on
Bridgewater Road, it has come to light that the Traffic Regulation Order for 3 of the lengths of existing restrictions on Newton Road, needs amending.

Following numerous repairs to the parapet walls on Seamon’s Moss Bridge, the Council, in conjunction with the Bridgewater Canal company, agreed to introduce in September 2018, width restrictions on Seamon’s Road to discourage oversized vehicles crossing the 240-year-old bridge. It is proposed that the width restrictions, with some minor amendments, now be made permanent.

Proposals to introduce ‘school keep clear’ markings (No stopping, Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm) on Wood Lane, Partington; at its junction with Myrtle Road, were formally advertised on 15th March 2019. Following a 21-day statutory consultation with nearby frontages, a single response was received in objection to the proposals. Having considered the objection, the Council proposes to introduce the ‘school keep clear’ restrictions at the above-mentioned location as advertised. The proposals are shown on drawing E9033-01-F and are described in Schedule 1 to the report.

To remove the obstructive parking and consequent access and congestion issues for both vehicles and pedestrians, at the Broad Lane/Hale Road and Broad Lane/Ashmeade junctions and along Broad Lane. The proposals would improve safe access for all road users and would be of a particular benefit in improving safe pedestrian access along Broad Lane where there were instances of footways being obstructed.
