A resident of Langshaw Street, Old Trafford, who is a blue badge holder, has

made a request for an advisory disabled persons’ parking space.

 

Following a consultation with nearby residents and an assessment of the applicant’s needs by the One Stop Resource Centre, it is proposed that an Advisory Disabled Bay be implemented.

07/02/2019 - Proposed Amendment to the Borough of Trafford (Parking Places) (Charges) Order 2001 ref: 778    Recommendations Approved

It is proposed to revise the existing on-street and off-street parking charges, which necessitates an amendment to the Borough of Trafford (Parking Places) (Charges Order) 2001. These proposals will be subject to a separate report to be submitted to the special Budget Executive meeting on 20 February 2019 to approve the Council’s budget proposals for the Fees, Charges and allowances for 2019/20.

 

It is anticipated that the period for the revised parking charges to be introduced will be April 2019.

31/01/2019 - Framingham Road Area, George's Road Area and Walton Road Area - Proposed Waiting Restrictions ref: 777    Recommendations Approved

Several requests have been received by the Council to manage the kerbside parking provisions in the Brooklands ward. The issues raised are related to congestion caused by commuter parking and parking at peak times close to Brooklands Primary School.

 

The Council proposes to introduce a series of waiting restrictions to manage congestion while improving traffic flow and ensure vehicles are parked in a safe manner. The measures include the introduction of no waiting at any time restrictions and other daytime no waiting restrictions.

Decision:

1. Thatthe proposed arrangements be noted to provide investment by way of purchase of equity in the Manchester Airport Group alongside the other nine district councils to provide additional car parking provision, to ensure future growth, details of which are set out in the body of the report.

2. That Council be recommended to approve a capital budget increase of £5.6m (£3.7m in 2019/20 and £1.9m in 2020/21) funded by prudential borrowing to be reported to Council in February 2019 as part of the overall budget proposals.

3. That the proposed equity investment be approved of £5.6m in Manchester Airport Group the details of which are set out in the report, subject to Council approving the increase in capital budget and expenditure of £5.6m funded by prudential borrowing.

4. That authority be delegated to the Corporate Director of Governance and Community Strategy and Corporate Director of Finance and Systems in consultation with the Executive Member for Finance, to negotiate and finalise the detailed contractual and commercial arrangements in respect of the above proposed investment.

5. That the Corporate Director of Governance and Community Strategy be authorised to enter into any necessary agreements or documents to give effect to the above recommendations.
