Decision:
1. That the results of the consultation and the objection be noted.
2. That following careful consideration of the objections and comments received, authorisation be given to make and introduce the Traffic Regulation Order as advertised, as detailed in schedule 1 to the report and as shown on drawing SMB 10A/B as soon as is practicable.
3. That the objector be notified of the Council’s decision.
Reasons for the decision:
In the interests of general safety and to protect the structural integrity of the bridge, the width restriction is made permanent to enhance resident amenity and in the interests of highway safety.
Alternative options considered:
It was considered to use water filled barriers however this option would not be cost effective in terms of renting the water drums & would not be a permanent solution as they could be moved easily.
