Problems caused by on-street parking at the junctions of Moorside Road and its service road have been the subject of complaints made by residents to the Council. In addition to the safety hazard this causes, some damage to the verges at the Moorside Road service road has occurred.
1. That authorisation be given to advertise the intention to introduce the Traffic Regulation Order, as detailed in the Schedule to the report and that, if no objections are maintained, the Order be made and implemented in whole or in part, as soon as is practicable.
2. That any objections maintained be reported back for consideration.
The Council had been contacted by residents concerned with inconsiderate parking around the junctions on Moorside Road obscuring visibility for motorists when manoeuvring in and out of the junctions.
The proposal seeks to introduce ‘No Waiting At Any Time’ restrictions to deter parking issues and to improve pedestrian access and visibility for all road users.
The alternative to do nothing would mean the safety issues at the junctions would remain.
None.
