Taylor Road, Stokoe Avenue and Hillcroft Road, Altrincham: Proposed Waiting Restrictions

Decision Maker: Corporate Director Place

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

Yellow line road markings depicting waiting restrictions were introduced on Taylor Road, Stokoe Avenue and Hillcroft Road to facilitate the construction works for the expansion of Oldfield Brow Primary School. These restrictions were introduced without the benefit of a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO).

Proposals to introduce a TRO to make permanent the waiting restrictions were advertised on 21 April 2017. Following the 21-day statutory consultation with nearby frontages, an objection to the proposals was received. Further comments were made by Greater Manchester Police, leading to modifications being made to the scheme that require the proposals to be re-advertised. It is therefore proposed to introduce a Traffic Regulation Order to make these restrictions permanent. The proposed restrictions are shown on drawing E8991/02 and are described in the schedule to the report.

Decision:

1)     That the result of the consultation and the objection be noted.

2)     That authorisation be given to advertise the intention to introduce the Traffic Regulation Order as detailed in the schedule to the report and that, if no objections are maintained the order be made and implemented in whole or in part as soon as is practicable.

3)     That any objections maintained be reported back for consideration.

Reasons for the decision:

It is recommended that, in the interests of road safety in the vicinity of the school, approval is given to implement the restrictions as shown on drawing E8991/02 and as described in the schedule to the report.
