RESOLVED: That the Minutes of the Public Protection Sub-Committee meeting held on 15th February 2018 be approved as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.

APPLICATION FOR THE RENEWAL OF A SEX ESTABLISHMENT LICENCE - TOTTIES, THE CAUSEWAY, ALTRINCHAM, WA14 1DF pdf icon PDF 1 MB

To consider a report of the Head of Regulatory Services.

Minutes:

The Head of Regulatory Services submitted a report requesting Members to consider an application for the renewal of a Sex Establishment Licence for Totties, The Causeway, Altrincham.  The application had attracted an objection from a local resident.  Representations were made by Mr. R. Dodd, the owner of the premises.

 

RESOLVED: That the Sex Establishment Licence for Totties be renewed.

Motion (Which may be amended as Members think fit):

 

That the public be excluded from this meeting during consideration of the remaining items on the agenda, because of the likelihood of disclosure of “exempt information” which falls within one or more descriptive category or categories of the Local Government Act 1972, Schedule 12A, as amended by The Local Government (Access to Information) (Variation) Order 2006, and specified on the agenda item or report relating to each such item respectively.

RESOLVED: That this item be deferred to a future meeting of the Public Protection Sub-Committee.

PRIVATE HIRE DRIVER - UPDATE REPORT FOR INFORMATION FOLLOWING EMERGENCY REVOCATION BY HEAD OF REGULATORY SERVICES

To note a report of the Head of Regulatory Services.

Minutes:

The Head of Regulatory Services submitted a report requesting Members to note a serious matter which had been dealt with using delegated powers for dealing with emergency situations by the Head of Regulatory Services and officers from the Licensing Section and Legal Services Section.  Following this the Chair, Vice-Chair and Opposition Spokesperson of the Sub-Committee made the decision to revoke Mr S. S’ Private Hire driver’s licence with immediate effect on the grounds of public safety.

 

              RESOLVED: That the report be noted.

36.

MR IAIN VEITCH, HEAD OF REGULATORY SERVICES

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee noted that Mr. Iain Veitch was retiring from the Council in May.  The Chairman thanked him for all his hard work and support throughout his time at the Council and wished him well for his retirement.  The Sub-Committee members echoed these sentiments.
