Where required a licensed driver must provide a medical certificate completed by their own GP.  If a driver is unable to provide a medical certificate because of the current restrictions; they may complete the Council’s on-line medical self –certification form which will be valid until the 30th June 2021 (extended from the 31st March 2021)

From the 1st July 2021 the driver will be required to provide a satisfactory medical certificate signed by his own GP; if this is not possible due to coronavirus delays, they may provide a certificate signed by a doctor employed by a private medical company who has seen a summary of the driver’s medical history.

From the 1st January 2022 the Council will only accept a satisfactory medical certificate signed by the driver’s own GP.

This policy may be reviewed at any time between the 1st April 2021 and the 1st January 2022 dependant on the progress of the vaccine rollout and the relaxation of restrictions.
