REMOVE SALE AND ALTRINCHAM FROM THE MANCHESTER MARATHON ROUTE
We the undersigned petition the Council to change the route of the marathon to exclude Sale and Altrincham and look at new routes each year so that the same residents and businesses aren't inconvenienced year after year in the same area.
each year the marathon causes a great deal of distress for local residents and businesses and although its only for 1 day it remains the same route through Trafford affecting the same groups each year. Road closures also increase congestion and pollution in areas that would otherwise see less traffic than on a normal day, I would like to see a different road into the city used for that main duration of the marathon instead of Chester Road/Washway Road route, runners could run east to Denton instead or north to Ratcliffe or Oldham etc , instead of south through Trafford.
