The lack of safe crossing areas, road signs and road layout at the front of school is increasing the risk of a serious incident occurring. We would like the council to provide an urgent review to ultimately:

A) Implement a zebra crossing to allow students to cross Flixton Road and access school safely each day;
B) Increase/improve road signs to offer warnings that drivers are approaching the school zone on approaching roads;
C) Improve the road markings outside of school to extend the zigzags across the full length of the front of school;
D) Provide safety barriers at appropriate school exit points to prevent students from walking straight out in the road upon exit.

We believe these are achievable goals that can be reached in a short period of time to improve the safety of our school community.
These suggestions have been agreed by the school Senior Leadership Team upon proposal by the students represented by the Junior Leadership Team.
