The new proposals by Trafford Council to cut budgets include stopping all funding of School Crossing Patrollers. Patrols are to become a traded service where schools or community groups take on the bill.

The council have stated that they are not scrapping the service... but that they will not fund it. Which will inevitably leave some schools without a patrol or taking funding from other areas in order to provide a patrol. How can schools be expected to prioritise between children education provision and a school patrol?

We need to make the council aware that as parents and a community, this is not an acceptable proposal! Please sign the petition and share with your school and community! Help save our Lollypop People!!
