PfE Delegated Approvals for EiP

The joint Local Plan - Places for Everyone (PfE) was submitted to the Secretary of State in February 2022 for independent examination by the Planning Inspectorate. Three planning inspectors have since been appointed and work towards the public hearings has been ongoing in the intervening period.

In the period leading up to and during the course of the statutory examination in public, a plethora of decisions will need to be made to make the Places for Everyone plan ‘sound’ and therefore capable of being adopted. Most of these modifications/ changes to the plan will be technical and will be required to be agreed (in principle) in a very short space of time – frequently immediately or overnight and certainly within several days.

It is therefore necessary for the executive to delegate authority to the Corporate Director for Place to agree necessary modifications to the plan to enable its’ examination to proceed as expediently as possible.
