The Scrutiny Committee considered the issue of visits by Gypsy, Roma and Traveller people in Trafford following several temporary encampments in the Summer of 2021. A Task and Finish Group was established and reported its findings in March 2022; those findings were considered by the executive in June and a decision was agreed to explore temporary stopping places.

The report sets out the practical and operational considerations connected with identifying and managing such temporary facilities and recommends plans be progressed on a site in Old Trafford on a trial basis.
