Notice of Intention to take Urgent Delegated Key Decision Without 28-Day Notice

Notice is hereby given in accordance with Regulation 11 of the Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (Meetings and Access to Information) (England) Regulations 2012 that the following decision, which is a Key Decision to be taken under delegated authority by the Executive Member for Economic Growth, Environment and Infrastructure on or after 23/12/16, is a case of Special Urgency as defined by Regulation 11:

·         Procurement of Gas Supplier 

In accordance with Regulation 11, the Chairman of the Scrutiny Committee has been advised of this issue, and has agreed that the making of the decision is urgent and cannot reasonably be deferred, for the following reason:

In view of volatile utility costs, the Council will pre-purchase to get the best possible price. Having the approval to enter into the contract in place before January will give the authority the maximum opportunity to determine the best point at which to complete the pre-purchase in the period up to the end of March 2017, using the advice from its framework provider.
