Reg. 10 Notice: Key Decision, Executive Meeting 25/11/19 - Serious Violence Grant  (29/10/2019 to 25/11/2019)

Plan description

EXECUTIVE KEY DECISION – EXECUTIVE MEETING 25 NOVEMBER 2019

The Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (Meetings and Access to Information) (England) Regulations 2012

Notice of Intention to take Key Decision without 28-Day Notice

Notice is hereby given in accordance with Regulation 10 of the Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (Meetings and Access to Information) (England) Regulations 2012 that it was impracticable to give 28 days’ notice of the taking of the following decision, which is a Key Decision to be taken by the Executive at its meeting on 25th November 2019:

·         Approval of the Serious Violence Grant Funding Action Plan

The reason for which it has been impracticable to give 28 days’ notice of this decision is as follows: The grant funding now received has to be spent by March 2020 in accordance with an approved action plan. In order to achieve that, resources need to be put in place as soon as possible; and since this is additional funding which the Council has received, a decision is needed from the Executive to support the spending. No indication was received of when the funding was likely to be paid, and no prior notice given. By the time the nature of the funding received had been identified, it was too late to be fully compliant with the relevant Regulation relating to 28 days’ notice of this Key Decision.

The Chair of the Scrutiny Committee has been advised of this issue in accordance with Regulation 10.
