EXCLUSION RESOLUTION (REMAINING ITEMS)

Motion (Which may be amended as Members think fit):

 

That the public be excluded from this meeting during consideration of the remaining items on the agenda, because of the likelihood of disclosure of “exempt information” which falls within one or more descriptive category or categories of the Local Government Act 1972, Schedule 12A, as amended by The Local Government (Access to Information) (Variation) Order 2006, and specified on the agenda item or report relating to each such item respectively.

UBER - RELOCATION OF OPERATOR BASE

To consider a report of the Head of Regulatory Services.

Minutes:

The Head of Regulatory Services submitted a report requesting members to consider an application from Uber to relocate their operator base to a consolidated operator base in Manchester.

 

RESOLVED: That the application to relocate an operator base be granted subject to the conditions below:-

 

Premises and Equipment

1.     The operator shall ensure that the use of the premises is conducted in accordance with the conditions of any lease, prohibited use and planning consent applicable to the premises.

2.     The operator shall ensure that the licensing authority and Greater Manchester Police are provided with a permanent single point of contact from which the operator will permit the inspection of booking records at all times.

3.     The Operator shall provide adequate communication facilities and staff to provide an efficient service to the public using the operator’s facilities.

4.     The Operator’s premises shall be kept clean and tidy, and adequately heated, ventilated and lit and a copy of the public liability insurance policy certificate shall be displayed within the premises.

5.     The Operator shall obtain and maintain in force at all times a public liability insurance policy in respect of his/her premises and produce the same to an Authorised Officer or Constable on request.

6.     The Operator shall ensure that on all its booking platforms customers have access to:

        (a) A copy of the current Operator licence

(b) A schedule of fares

(c) Information about the right and how to complain to the Licensing Authority including the Licensing Authorities email and phone number

APPLICATION FOR THE GRANT OF A NEW PRIVATE HIRE DRIVER’S LICENCE

To consider a report of the Head of Regulatory Services.

Minutes:

The Head of Regulatory Services submitted a report requesting members to consider an application for the grant of a Private Hire driver’s licence.

 

The applicant attended the meeting to enable members to give the matter their full consideration and answered questions from members of the Sub-Committee.

 

The Sub-Committee considered the report and the evidence given at the meeting and concluded that Mr. P. D was not a fit and proper person to hold a Private Hire driver’s licence.

 

RESOLVED: That Mr. P. D’s application for a Private Hire driver’s licence be refused.
