To consider a report of the Director of Legal and Democratic Services.

The Director of Legal and Democratic Services submitted a report providing an update on the current legal and governance arrangements for GMCA following the implementation of the Cities and Local Government Act in March 2016, and seeking agreement for delegated authority to enable the next stages of devolution to be implemented. In discussion it was noted that the detail of scrutiny arrangements was yet to be determined.

            RESOLVED -

(1)        That it be noted that the Cities and Local Government Act is now in place; and that the next steps required for implementation of the Greater Manchester devolution deals be noted.

(2)        That authority be delegated to the Chief Executive in consultation with the Leader of the Council to consent to the terms of all Orders required to implement the current devolution deals.
